Sewed today with June

at the church.  I was able to bind my patriotic retreat quilt on the machine today.  First time I have ever done that!!  I felt FREE!!!  This quilt is from a quilting retreat several years ago.  I never finish my quilts at the retreat, I am just too slow...  But, by golly, it is finished now and I love it!!  Kathy Heldt did a beautiful job quilting it on her longarm.

Do you see this block with all the little pieces?  Well, if you look closely in the big blue border you will see these little blocks set on point between the star blocks.  That was a lot of WORK and I want credit for it!!

June was cranky and out of sorts and I don't blame her a bit.  Her two dogs have become incorrigible.  She can't keep them in her yard, despite an electric fence, constant filling of holes with concrete, and locking them up in their pens.  She hurt her back a couple weeks ago trying to lift some really heavy bags of cement and now, this morning, she looked out in her backyard and they had torn down parts of her wooden fence.  Well, I know what I would do, but I am not sure what she is going to do.

And beside the dogs, a good friend asked her to lengthen four curtain panels by using pieces from two extra panels.  She also wanted her to place a very "old lady" type trim on the seam made from lengthening the panels.  All of this and her friend openly admitted that her daughter probably won't use them.  No wonder she was in a funk.

Heather and Allison came down while we were sewing.  Heather really liked the patriotic quilt top,  said there were a couple of my quilts that she had her eyes on!!  I felt good about that.  I helped Allison cut out some fabric for a project and ironed a huge 128" by 108" backing for my log cabin quilt.  Now, I need to get it to Kathy for quilting.  We had some pizza and lots of coffee and talked about how sick we are of the political "discussions" imposed upon us every day and in every part of our lives.  Tuesday can't come quick enough.
