Starting Anne's Quilt

Hey, yesterday I started on Annie's quilt.  I just can't decide how I want to do it and it has been bugging...bugging me.  I was going to do it in big plain blocks, but I just couldn't picture it.

So, yesterday I spent several hours combing through my ridiculous stash to find coordinating fabrics for the main fabrics.

This is the block I decided to make.  The designs of the focus fabric are so large that I couldn't go with small pieces.   I also made the block huge - so that the focus fabrics will show up well and partly because it requires less sewing. I sure hope she will like it.

I like the block, reminds me of a kindergarten swoon block.  LOL.  I've seen lots of swoon block quilts that use many different colors, so I'm thinking maybe this will work.

On another note:
Ellis was mowing down the garden area with the bush hog and threw a rock through the breezeway door.  He didn't even know he did it until he came up to the he house.  He fixed it yesterday and then he made fried potatoes and cornbread to go with the beans in the crockpot.  I have to say it was DELISH!! I did laundry and will continue with that chore tomorrow.
